Pivoting on Valentine’s Day, the piece is a twist on the conventional idea - the fact that friendship is as important as romantic love. The opening paragraph is about an imagined patron saint of friendship - St. Valentina, and Li's task was to create a conceptual image involving a group of women overlooked by St Valentina, with an ethereal tone and a dash of wit.
